Flashback Minis: Lamps for Liberty

Warren has a well-documented history of manufacturing. And in 1986, General Electric enlightened the community.

Banners and shirts were made with the slogan, “Lamps for Liberty” to celebrate the company’s light bulbs use in the Statue of Liberty’s torch.

Warren’s light bulb production also led to another milestone in 1911. The city became the first to have incandescent streetlights due to the significant amount of light bulb manufactures located in Warren.
