Flashback Minis: McKelvey’s Department Store

YOUNGSOTWN, Ohio – George McCartney McKelvey was a farmer and school teacher before coming to Youngstown.

He became a merchant and acquired the West Federal Mercantile that became the G.M. McKelvey & Co. in 1883.

This is a piece of the plaster ceiling molding from McKelvey’s/Higbee’s Downtown store.
