YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– Housed inside Arms Family Museum’s reception room, you’ll find a console table built in 1905. Olive Arms commissioned the Switzerland-born Heller brothers to create the piece.
The console table has the same design elements as a circa 1700 wine chest which can also be found in the reception room just a few feet away. Both feature carved panels depicting female martyred saints.
The Heller brothers, Adolf and Lewis, incorporated the Heller Bros. Co. in 1891. They were lumber dealers, operated a planing mill and served as contractors on some of Youngstown’s best known commercial buildings.
