Flashback Minis: Poland Schools (Part 2)
POLAND, Ohio– When Poland was incorporated at a village in 1866, it was decided that a public school would be built on Riverside Drive. That building, seen in the photograph featured in this video, was completed in 1882.
It began as a public elementary school before switching to become Poland’s first public high school in 1888. In 1909, it would revert back to an elementary school when the private school on College Street became Poland Seminary High School.
