Flashback Minis: The Electric Block in Warren
The City of Warren was once known as Lampville, USA because of the high amount of electric companies that called it home. Warren was also the very first city in the United States to have incandescent street lights.
The building featured in this Flashback was known as the Electric Block. It was located on the corner of Park and High Streets and was home to several electric companies.
Some of the most well known electric companies in Warren at the time were Sterling, Peerless and Packard Electric, which all occupied the building. The structure showcased a large illuminated “electric block” sign and another hanging on its facade with the phrase “do it electrically.”
