Flashback Minis: YSU’s Greek Sing Competition

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– Youngstown State University’s annual Greek Sing Competition has been a part of Greek life on campus for more than 60 years. In 1953 the event was introduced into the Panhellenic May Day activities. The May Day celebration at YSU dates back to 1928.

YSU fraternities and sororities come together each year to compete for the trophy. Once strictly a singing competition, Greek Sing performances are now judged on choreography, costumes, props and enthusiasm as well.

The Greek Sing is held every spring and is the culmination of all Greek activities for the academic year.
