Flying HIGH Partners with Livi Steel

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Flying HIGH Inc.’s Professional Development Center welding students are gaining valuable, hands-on experience as they work on a structural steel project for Livi Steel, Inc.

Livi Steel is a leading structural steel fabricator in Warren. The partnership provides students with the opportunity to apply advanced welding techniques to real-world projects, preparing them for employment in the field.

According to Tim Hipkins, lead welding instructor at Flying HIGH Inc., his students have proven to be more than ready for this challenge.

“I have some of my best students on this project,” he said. “Their skill level is to the point where they are ready to be employed. They’ve mastered techniques like FCAW [Flux-Cored Arc Welding] and SMAW [Shielded Metal Arc Welding], which are essential for the welding industry.”

The students’ work is producing essential structural steel components that will be used in building schools, medical facilities, factories, warehouses, and more. Livi Steel Inc. is impressed with the quality of work the students have delivered.

“The incredible work that the PDC students are producing will be utilized as structural steel members in the field to build essential infrastructure,” said Ashley Morrow of the company. “Their ability to take on real-world projects like these helps them transition smoothly from students to employees. We’ve seen the quality of their work exceed our expectations, and we highly recommend partnering with Flying HIGH Inc.”

Livi Steel Inc., a third-generation family-owned business, is proud to partner with Flying HIGH Inc.’s PDC to address workforce needs in the region. Their collaboration supports Flying HIGH Inc.’s mission to provide high-quality training and real-world experience for students entering the workforce.
