Forbes Ranks Grove City College Among the Best
GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College is one of America’s Top Colleges, according to Forbes.
The financial magazine issued its 2016 list of the nation’s 660 best schools this week and Grove City College is ranked at 250 overall. The college came in at 105 on the magazine’s list of top liberal arts colleges, 181 among private colleges and 106 in the Northeast.
Forbes says it looks primarily at student outcomes when compiling its list: “We’re not interested in what gets a student into college … Our sights are set directly on ROI: What are students getting out of college?”
To determine that, the magazine partnered with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity and used data from the U.S. Department of Education, PayScale and other sources to evaluate America’s colleges and universities. They looked at post-graduate success, student debt, student satisfaction, graduation rates and academic success.
By those metrics, Grove City College maintained its place as one of Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges.
Within six months of graduation, 97% of the class of 2015 was either working or in graduate school, and starting and mid-career salaries of alumni are 14% to 19% above the national average, the college noted in announcing its place on the Forbes ranking. The four-year graduation rate is 78 % and the freshman tuition rate is 92%.
Grove City College was founded in 1876. The college offers its 2,500 students morethan 50 majors in liberal arts, sciences, engineering and music.
