Foreclosures, Delinquencies Down in Valley
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The foreclosure rate in the Mahoning Valley fell slightly in December, down to 1.96%, a decrease of 0.10 percent compared to December 2014, reports the financial analytics company CoreLogic.
Still, foreclosure activity in the region was higher than the national foreclosure rate, which was 1.20% for December 2015.
Meanwhile, the mortgage delinquency rate decreased in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman area. According to CoreLogic data for December, 5.12% of mortgage loans were 90 days or more delinquent compared with 6.18% for the same period last year, representing a decrease of 1.06 percentage points.
The national delinquency rate was 3.28% in December, down from 4.14% in December 2014.
