Foreclosure Rates Fall to 1.83% in October

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Foreclosure rates in October in Mahoning and Trumbull counties in Ohio and Mercer County, Pa., fell from a year ago but are still above the national rate, reports the California-based financial analytics company CoreLogic.

The foreclosure rate in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman metropolitan statistical area was 1.83% in October, down 0.24% from the same month a year ago. The national rate was 1.2% that month, down from 1.53% a year ago. Statewide, the foreclosure rate was 1.28%, down from 1.47% from last year.

CoreLogic also reported that the 90-day delinquency rate in the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman region fell in October to 5.1%, much higher than the national rate of 3.35%. In October 2014, the delinquency rates were 5.98% and 4.13%, respectively. The rate for Ohio was 3.7%, down from 4.46% last year.
