Former Atlanta Mayor Speaks on Mental Health and Emotional Well-Being

NILES, Ohio – Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms was the keynote speaker at Unmute the Uncomfortable 2024 – a symposium on racial equity, mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

During her discussion with Youngstown Municipal Court Judge Carla Baldwin, Lance Bottoms spoke on normalizing the ability to talk about mental and emotional well-being.

“You’d be surprised at how many people can relate to whatever it is that you are experiencing and want to relate to what you are experiencing,” Bottoms said. “For me, focusing on those things that are most authentic and true to me had been the best touch points for me and connecting with community.”

The symposium was conducted by Coleman Health Services.
