Former Cerni Motors Dealership Building Sold for $4.5M
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The former Cerni Motors building and accompanying 8 acres at 1050 Cerni Place have sold to a New York entity for $4.49 million, according to records filed with the Mahoning County Auditor’s office.
ATCRH Youngstown LLC purchased the land and building from Truck Building Ltd. on May 10, records show. The auditor lists the entity’s tax address as Axial Reade Capital LP of 250 Greenwich St., New York, N.Y.
Cerni Motors, a truck dealership established in 1961, changed its name to Trivista in 2021 after it merged with two other dealerships in Kentucky and Iowa in 2017. Trivista has since grown to 12 locations in Ohio, Kentucky, Iowa, Kansas and Indiana.
The recent asset sale coincides with Trivista being acquired by Ascendance Truck Centers, according to Ascendance’s website.
The dealership is a local store for International Trucks. Brothers John and Charlie Cerni founded Cerni Motors in 1961 when they opened a GMC dealership in Warren. The company became an International truck dealership in 1972 and opened a service operation in Girard and another in Painsville.
Records show the Austintown dealership was constructed in 1997. The building and land is appraised at $2.2 million for real estate tax purposes.
