Former Disney VP Executive in Residence at Williamson

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Undergraduate and graduate students at the Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University will now learn from a former 20-year executive with Walt Disney Co.

Jeanne Mosure, the former senior vice president and group global publisher of Disney Publishing Worldwide, is the first Executive in Residence at Williamson. Through class presentations, mentoring, coaching and speaking engagements, Mosure will share her expertise from 35 years of corporate experience in strategic planning, content development, organizational design and optimization and franchise management. She will work with business faculty on various projects and will serve on the college’s Business Advisory Council.

On Jan. 23, Mosure will present a keynote address, The Professional Journey, at noon in Williamson Hall.

“We are thrilled to have Jeanne [Mosure] join the WCBA,” said Betty Jo Licata, dean of Williamson. “She will play a unique role working with our students and faculty, sharing her insights and enriching the education of our students.”

Mosure currently serves as vice president of public affairs at MS Consultants Inc. While at Disney, she managed an international $3 billion retail business comprised of books, magazines and comics across all formats and platforms. Under Mosure, Disney’s U.S. publishing division became one of the top-ranking children’s publishing businesses in North America, producing the New York Times best-selling book series “Isle of the Lost,” which was created with the Disney Channel for the “Descendants” TV movie franchise.

She oversaw more than 300 U.S. and international staff members, and mentored and developed more than 300 international licensees. She led the organization and its partners through several changes, including the creative development and global content integration when Disney acquired Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Entertainment LLC and Lucasfilm Ltd.

Before Disney, Mosure spent 17 years at Penguin Random House, holding several senior positions, including vice president of sales planning and market development.

In addition to her work at MS Consultants, she consults for international publishing companies, including Hachette Book Group USA, one of the top five U.S publishing houses, as well as Highlights for Children magazine.

She serves on the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber Government Affairs Committee, is an advisory board member of the Newman Center at YSU and is a member of the Rotary Club of Canfield. She has served on several boards, including the Association of American Publishers and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
