Foxconn Official Answers the Question: Why Ohio?
NILES, Ohio – During the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s annual Salute to Business event, Robert Schlaeger of Foxconn Technology Group gave his keynote presentation.
Schlaeger noted some reasons as to why Foxconn opted to locate a facility in Lordstown, Ohio, which currently employs over 400. They include the state’s centralized geography within the North American supply chain and its rich history of automobile manufacturing, its proximity to the company’s Wisconsin campus where 1,000 employees make data servers, the state’s business friendly climate and educational institutions, including Youngstown State University.
“As we drive more business, that will then drive the discussion as to more people that we need to bring on in order to support the production of a product for a customer to get that product to market,” Schlaeger says.
