Franklin to Discuss Warren Development at Press Club Event

WARREN, Ohio – Mayor William “Doug” Franklin will discuss development in and near the city’s downtown during a Youngstown Press Club breakfast meeting Oct. 3.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Raymond John Wean Foundation, 147 W. Market St.

Franklin will discuss ongoing and planned projects for the city’s downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.

Franklin, a Democrat, has been Warren’s mayor for 12 years. He cites the demolition of the blighted former St. Joseph Riverside Hospital building late last year and earlier this year as one of his major accomplishments.

Before being elected mayor, Franklin served as 1st Ward councilman, council president and public service and safety director.The cost for the event is $15 for club members and $20 for nonmembers. Tickets are required and can be purchased HERE. Reservations are due by Sept. 27.
