Gander Mountain, Francesca’s Plan Openings

NILES, Ohio – Two retailers are preparing for openings at the Eastwood Mall Complex here in the coming months, the Cafaro Co. announced Wednesday.

Outdoor gear retailer Gander Mountain is moving toward a March 17 grand reopening of its store in the Howland Commons. Last year Gander Mountain opened a temporary store next to Kohl’s in the strip plaza anchored by Super Kmart and the building that housed its existing store and the former Circuit City were demolished to allow construction of a new store.

At 62,000 square feet, the “new generation” Gander Mountain location will be roughly twice the size of the original Howland Commons store and larger than any other retail in the category within 70 miles, according to the Cafaro C.

Gander Mountain, based in St. Paul, Minn., operates 160 stores in 24 states. Since 2012, Gander Mountain has added nearly 50 new stores throughout the country and remodeled most of the its existing stores.

In addition, the publicly held fashion retailer Francesca’s plans to open its 1,488-square-foot boutique on Center Court by June. Since opening in 1999, Francesca’s has grown to more than 600 locations in 47 states.
