Ghossain’s to Open Third Store in Canfield

CANFIELD, Ohio – Ghossain’s Gourmet Mediterranean Foods will hold a grand opening for its third location here Wednesday.

Ghossain’s will cut the ribbon for its new shop at 4559 Boardman-Canfield Road at 10 a.m. The Route 224 store will join its existing locations in Niles and Boardman.

Ghossain’s was founded in Youngstown in 1970 and now is operated by third-generation owner Joe Ghossain Jr. The business started in a garage on East Philadelphia avenue, before expanding onto Market Street. It relocated in 2004 to a new building on South Avenue.

Best known for its flatbread and pita breads, the delicatessen specializes in Mediterranean food. The bakery also distributes its bread throughout the United States, and supplies regional retailers between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

In addition, it distributes to restaurants in the area as well as to food companies such as Sysco, which supplies the bread to its customers.
