Giant Eagle Launches Home Delivery Service

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio –Starting today, Giant Eagle customers in the Youngstown area will be able to receive grocery items delivered to their front doorsteps.

The retailer is ramping up its Curbside Express service by offering home delivery to 27 ZIP codes throughout the region.

Giant Eagle launched the Curbside Express Home Delivery service in March 2017 with a pilot in select Pittsburgh neighborhoods. The service has enabled customers to choose from 45,000 grocery offerings including fresh produce, meat, seafood and bakery items, refrigerated and frozen items, and cleaning and laundry supplies. Same-day and next-day delivery options are available.

“Giant Eagle first launched its home delivery service in Pittsburgh and as of today have expanded that service to northeast Ohio and Columbus where thousands of local customers have placed orders with us,” said Giant Eagle spokesperson, Jannah Jablonowski. “We are excited to bring this unique convenience to Youngstown, thereby giving more customers access to nearly our entire store without ever having to leave home.”

There is a minimum purchase requirement of $35 for Curbside Express Home Delivery orders and an order can be placed up to seven days in advance.

For a limited time, there will be a $5.95 next-day, and $9.95 same-day delivery fee, and the service fee is waived on a customer’s first order. Customers can also take advantage of no convenience fee on pickup orders for a limited time.

Trained Giant Eagle Curbside Express team members will shop for customer groceries in-store once orders are placed before a Giant Eagle delivery driver takes the order right to the customer’s door at their scheduled delivery time.

“Our Curbside Express Home Delivery service continues to grow in popularity as customers quickly learn that our trained Curbside Express team members shop for items with the same care and attention to detail that our customers have,” said Jablonowski.

The program accepts eCoupons and payment for orders will be accepted online at the time of checkout through a credit or debit card including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover and through Paypal. Customers will be able to take advantage of the fuelperks loyalty program as they will earn and have the option to redeem perks on all Curbside Express home delivery and store pickup orders just as if they were shopping in-store.

Grocery home delivery service is available via the same online grocery shopping website, CurbsideExpress.com, where customers can plan their shopping lists and place their pick-up orders, a service that is broadly available today at 72 Giant Eagle locations throughout Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, Erie and Youngstown.
