Glenwood Fresh Market Opens April 12

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. is opening the Glenwood Fresh Market at 9 a.m. on April 12.

Located at 2915 Glenwood Ave., the new Glenwood Fresh Market will be open year-round for members to access free, high-quality fruits, vegetables and other healthful food items, according to a press release. Operating hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

All residents who are low-income and predisposed to illnesses linked to diet including obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and other related conditions are eligible to become members. As of March 31, 940 individuals have become members and the YNDC anticipates enrolling 2,000 members in the coming months, according to the release.

A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 12.
