Golf Event Raises $65K for Local Performing Arts Organizations
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The third annual Fore! The Arts Golf Classic raised $65,660 for four local performing arts organizations.
The funds raised during the event, which took place July 28 at the Youngstown Country Club, will benefit Stambaugh Auditorium, The Youngstown Playhouse, The Youngstown Symphony Society and Opera Western Reserve. The funds will be used to support programming for the 2023-24 season, educational initiatives and outreach activities for the four organizations.
“It was so great to see so many people from the community come out to support the arts,” said John Cox, Youngstown Playhouse board president and Golf Classic co-chair. “This event keeps getting better and better.”
The event was presented jointly by the boards of directors of each organization and is an extension of the partnerships that have been formed to share services, reduce costs, expand programming and preserve the area’s historic performing arts venues.
“We are extremely grateful for the support of all those who participated in the Fore! The Arts Golf Classic,” said Matt Pagac, chief executive and operating officer of the Henry H. Stambaugh Auditorium Association. “We had a great day, lots of fun, and supported four nonprofit arts organizations. Without supporters like those who are part of the golf classic, these organizations would not be able to continue serving their missions.”
