Good Morning! Here’s Your Market Intel

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Welcome to the first edition of Monday Morning Market Intel, which briefs busy business leaders on what they may have missed last week.

Today the nation pauses to honor our military veterans with observances planned across the country and here in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys.

On Friday, Army veteran Carl A. Nunziato Jr. will be saluted by the Mahoning-Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals as it marks National Philanthropy Day. Last week U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan introduced legislation to rename the Youngstown Veterans Affairs Clinic after Nunziato, a disabled and veterans’ rights advocate. Nunziato is one of seven to be honored Friday. They are profiled today.

The top five stories that stood out last week on The Business Journal website featured empowering young men (also the subject of this morning’s top story), Mahoning County real estate — including a nearly $4.6 million commercial sale, residential development in Canfield and Lordstown Motors buying the GM plant.
