Goodwill Offers Teachers Free Books

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Through the end of the year, Goodwill Industries of Mahoning and Shenango Valleys is offering teachers up to 25 free books to use in their classrooms.

“Being the son of a career educator and appreciating so much the work and love teachers give their students, we wanted to say, ‘Thanks,’ ” said Goodwill Executive Director Jim Freeze in a release. “We also say thanks to all of those who trust Goodwill with their donations as we continue to offer employment and services for those in our community with disabilities and other barriers to employment.”

To pick up books, teachers can go to any of the eight local Goodwill retail stores – in Austintown, Boardman, Calcutta, Liberty, Salem and Warren, as well as Hermitage and New Castle, Pa. – and show proof of their work in education, either through a teacher ID or pay stub.

Available books range from picture books to young-adult novels.
