Goodwill Opens Canfield Donation Center
CANFIELD, Ohio – Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has opened a new donation center in Canfield, the organization’s ninth in the area.
The center, 580 W. Main St., accepts donations 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. On average, says Executive Director Jim Freeze, more than 12,000 donate to the local Goodwill every month.
“Donations are the lifeblood of our organization and we are excited to open this new donation center to expand our outreach and impact in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys,” he said in a release. “We are able to turn the community donations of clothes and housewares into employment for people with disabilities and sales that help support meaningful programs and services that touch hundreds of people right here in our community.”
All items are being accepted, he added, but housewares, small appliances and home décor are particularly needed now.
Last year, Goodwill programs served about 400 people and 4.2 million pounds of donations were made.
