Greenway Trail Gets New Park Thanks to Realtors
LISBON, Ohio – A new park in Lisbon will welcome users of the Greenway Trail thanks to the support of the Beaver Creek Area Association of Realtors, Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors and the Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce.
The National Association of Realtors awarded a $5,000 grant to the creation of Realtor Park through the two local groups. The Lisbon chamber has also pledged contributions.
“The park is going to be a great enhancement to the Greenway bike trail and give us the ability to inform our visitors of the many points of interest that Lisbon has to offer,” said Roger Gallo, mayor of Lisbon Village.
Adjacent to the trailhead parking area off of South Market Street, the park will feature a pergola, seating, signage showing the trail route and a map of downtown Lisbon.
Site preparation will begin this month and a dedication ceremony is planned for October. Construction and landscaping will be accomplished through participation of the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center, the Boy Scouts of America and volunteers from the Realtor organizations.
