GM Names Greenwood Showrooms ‘Green Dealers’
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Greenwood Chevrolet and Greenwood’s Hubbard Chevrolet today will receive General Motors Co.’s “Green Dealers” certification during a press event at the dealership here, 4695 Mahoning Ave.
The Greenwood dealerships employ a number of green practices including energy use reduction and recycling in all departments. Greenwood Collision has been using waterborne paint since January 2016 and Greenwood Service manages oil waste and filters.
“Dealership’s sustainability performance is important to customers, employees and the community, as well as how it delivers operational efficiency,” said owner Greg Greenwood in a news release.
Greenwood Chevrolet is the third dealer in Ohio to be green certified, the first in northeastern Ohio and one of only 85 dealerships GM has certified since the program launched in 2014.
The Green Dealer program aligns with GM’s companywide efforts to reduce its environmental footprint. To apply for certification, dealerships complete a performance assessment that covers 60 eco-friendly business practices across 10 categories. Dealerships must have a high percentage of these practices in place to earn certification.
