Greyland Vintage Cleans House for a Cause

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — For the next two weekends, purveyors of the unique can fill up on treasures priced to move during the Greyland Vintage Green from Grey Warehouse Sale.

On Oct. 15-17 and Oct. 22-24, the retailer’s storage warehouse at 944 West Rayen Ave. will be open for shoppers to peruse the 20,000-square-foot space and select from thousands of items, from pottery and antique wooden tables to record albums and posters. The event begins today from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a special early bird admission of $10 per person.

Owner Rocco Sait says it’s time to liquidate part of the inventory to make way for new purchases. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit MyPath Mahoning Valley, a local nonprofit that provides direct service to middle and high school students in Warren, Youngstown and Campbell, assisting them with college and career exploration, financial aid application and scholarship searches, technical and workforce training, military enlistment and direct entry into the workforce.

Greyland’s storage space is a closeout warehouse for overflow items collected over the years, says co-owner Alexis Sarty.

“It is like a picker’s paradise right now,” Sarty says. “So everything’s been kind of situated in here for a long time. We’re just working toward going through everything, getting it organized in the right areas, so it’s a little less confusing when everybody gets here.”

As items are sold, more inventory will be rotated in over the two-week sale, Sarty says. On Oct. 24, shoppers can come in for an all day Stuff the Bag event for $25 per person and fill their bag.
