Grove City College in Top 10 for CPA Testing

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College accounting graduates achieved their highest ever ranking on the 2017 CPA Examination. With a pass rate nearly 30% above the national average, the college reports it is ranked ninth in the nation for medium-sized schools, according to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.

Grove City College alumni had a pass rate of 75%, the association reported. Less than half of those who take the exam — 48% — pass each section, according to the association. In addition, results of the 2017 testing placed Grove City College in the top 40 out of more than 1,000 schools in the U.S. that offer accounting programs.

“We are thrilled with the continued success that our students have had on the CPA exam. They are committed to achieving their professional goals and are not only gifted with technical skills and abilities, but they are also fine young men and women with outstanding character,” said Dr. David S. Baglia, a certified public accountant and chair of the accounting and finance department.

“Credit also goes to our faculty who do a tremendous job preparing students for the exam. We’ve seen a steady climb upward in our student success outcomes as the college ranked 17th in 2015, 11th in 2016, and now ninth in 2017,” Baglia oted.

Grove City College, stablished in 1876, offers students degrees in more than 60 majors. It is routinely ranked as one of the country’s top colleges by U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and others based on academic quality and superior outcomes.
