Grove City College Accounting Program Named ‘Most Affordable’
GROVE CITY, Pa. – Grove City College has been named to AccountingEDU’s list of the most affordable accounting baccalaureates in the country, one of just two schools in Pennsylvania to make the list.
Schools are graded on job placement rates, cost per credit and the first-time pass rate of alumni on certified public accountant exams. Grove City College, according to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, had a 73.9% pass rate for 2017 tests, nearly 25 points higher than the nation average and in the top 40 of the 1,000-plus colleges with accounting programs. The college’s cost per credit is $597.
“The first time pass rate on the CPA Exam is a prime indicator of the quality of the education offered at those schools,” the accounting education website said in its ranking. “You don’t get through that four-part, sixteen-hour exam on your first attempt without someone drilling the content into you and making sure you understand it.”
Other highlights for Grove City included a 96% job placement rate, paid internships, a wide variety of accounting electives and national accolades from U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review.
