Hallowed Grounds Coffee Co. Brews Up New Business
NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — When the Joe Maxx Coffee shop in downtown Youngstown closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, former manager Victoria Clark decided it was an opportunity to open a coffee shop of her own.
“There is no other industry I want to be in other than coffee,” Clark said. “I’ve been in the service industry since I was 15, and I found a section of it I that I love. It’s a different side of the restaurant business.”
In addition to a full line of fine coffee created by a barista, Hallowed Grounds Coffee Co. also sells breakfast sandwiches and pastries as well as New York-style water bagels seven days a week.
Hallowed Grounds will have a grand opening celebration Oct. 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the parking lot. The event will feature representatives from All About the Pawz, a dog rescue agency, hot dogs, treats, giveaways and candy, and also tarot readings. Guests are encouraged to come in costume.
