Hanna Mortgage Services Names Thurman VP Community Lending
PITTSBURGH – Howard Hanna Mortgage Services is welcoming LaMarcus Thurman to its team as the vice president of community lending.
This role is a newly created position that will focus on the community lending efforts of Howard Hanna Mortgage Services and its affiliated mortgage companies across a 13-state footprint. Thurman will be responsible for building relationships, awareness, and education around community lending in underserved communities.
“We are thrilled to welcome LaMarcus to Howard Hanna Mortgage Services,” says F. Duffy Hanna, president of Howard Hanna Financial Services. “His expertise in the industry will be invaluable to the future of our community lending program throughout the region and beyond.”
Thurman has more than a decade of experience in the banking and mortgage industry and has held roles at Fifth Third Bank, The Farmers National Bank of Emlenton, Citizens Bank, and in his most recent position as assistant vice President in the southwest region at Northwest Bank. He holds a BS in business and managerial economics from Allegheny College.
“Thank you to Duffy and the Hanna Family for this opportunity,” says Thurman. “I’m very passionate about and committed to helping everyone. With the support of Howard Hanna, I’m excited to see what the future holds and the impact we will make in the communities.”
Thurman serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh and is treasurer of 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania and the Crossroads Foundation. He also sits on two loan review committees, the Urban Redevelopment Authority and the East Liberty Development, Inc.
In March, the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America announced that Howard Hanna Mortgage Services was the first lender to earn its certification as an accredited social impact lender.
