Harambee Group Dances to Its Own Beat
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Swahili for “all pull together,” the concept of Harambee began in Kenya in the 1960s. Twenty years later, Lynette Miller started the Harambee Dancers in Youngstown, a singing, dancing and drumming youth group that works to spread African culture throughout the region while lifting up young people in the community.
