Heritage Ohio Acquires Lane Funeral Homes for $2.4 Million
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Heritage Ohio LLC, a Tennessee-based funeral services company, has completed its purchase of Lane Family Funeral Homes locations in Austintown and Canfield, according to papers filed with the Mahoning County Auditor’s office.
Auditor’s records show that Heritage paid $2.4 million for Lane’s funeral chapels and adjoining real estate at three locations – the Lane Austintown Chapel at 5793 Mahoning Ave. and the Lane Mineral Ridge Chapel at 1368 Canfield-Niles Road in Austintown, and the Lane Canfield Chapel at 65 N. Broad St. in Canfield.
The sale also includes the Lane administrative offices building at 5805 Mahoning Ave., according to records. The transaction was recorded March 8.
Lane’s Boardman location was not included in this sale, records show.
In January, Heritage closed on its acquisition of Lane Funeral Homes’ properties in Trumbull County for $1.66 million.
Mahoning County auditor’s records show that Heritage also purchased Lane’s family center in Canfield at 45. N. Broad St. for $404,940 on Jan. 30.
The sales are part of Heritage’s acquisition of three longtime family funeral operations in the Mahoning Valley – Lane, Becker Funeral Homes and Baumgardner Funeral Homes.
The three funeral homes announced in October 2022 that they would sell to Heritage Ohio, a division of Heritage Family Funeral Services based in Blountville, Tenn.
According to auditor’s records, Heritage in January paid $2 million for the Davis-Becker funeral home and surrounding land on Market Street in Boardman, the Becker pet crematory in Struthers and assorted smaller parcels in Struthers and Poland.
The company paid another $1.5 million for the Lowellville and Poland locations of Cunningham-Becker funeral homes and Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, according to records.
Heritage paid $311,740 for the Baumgardner Funeral Home in Kinsman on state Route 7 in Trumbull County on Jan. 9, records show.
