Hermitage Awarded $1.2M for Pickleball Courts, Complex Upgrades

HERMITAGE, Pa. – The city will receive $1.2 million for the construction of nine pickleball courts and the expansion of parking and pedestrian accessibility at the Hermitage Athletic Complex.

The funding was awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

Also included in the funding awarded through the program is $250,000 for Thiel College for the renovation and expansion of the Thiel College Academic Center.

“While these projects vary, they’re all aiming to make Mercer County a better place,” said state Rep. Parke Wentling, R-7th. “This funding recognizes the important part these organizations play in our community.”
