Home Savings Gives YNDC $15K for Business Center
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Home Savings Bank has donated $15,000 to the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. to support the renovation of the Glenwood Business Center.
Plans call for the building at 2246 Glenwood Ave., purchased by YNDC in August, to be subdivided into turnkey spaces for small businesses. The 18,000-square-foot building was formerly a distribution center for Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.
“This project is part of YNDC’s comprehensive revitalization efforts along the Greater Glenwood Avenue Corridor,” said YNDC housing director Tiffany Sokol in a release. “Modernizing and returning this building to productive use will create quality rental options for small-business owners, added needed neighborhood-serving business to the corridor and provide job opportunities for city residents.”
Added Home Savings’ Trish Gelomino: “We’re proud to be able to support the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. in their mission to transform neighborhoods and change lives while improving the quality of life in the city of Youngstown.”
In June, Mayor Jamael Tito Brown announced the city and YNDC had been awarded a $150,000 grant from Wells Fargo to renovate the building.
