Houck Adds Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As the National Park Service approaches its centennial anniversary, The Houck Agency announced Thursday that it has added the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park to its roster of clients.

“We’re fortunate to have the only national park in Ohio within an hour’s drive of the Mahoning Valley, and among our objectives with this centennial marketing campaign is to attract more visitors to connect – or reconnect – with this national treasure from throughout northeastern Ohio,” President Jim Houck said in a release.

The area was designated a national park in 2000. Among the events planned for the centennial of the park service are the BioBlitz festival May 20 and 21, a concert by the Cleveland Orchestra July 17, and Party in the National Park Aug. 20 and 21.

The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a nonprofit organization created to “engage public support and provide services to enhance public use and enjoyment of the park,” the group says.
