Huntington Sponsors Community Alley at Riverfront Park
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Huntington Bank will sponsor Community Alley at the new riverfront park downtown, the bank and JAC Management announced Friday.
The bank paid $500,000 for the 10-year deal to naming rights for the Huntington Bank Community Alley.
The venue underneath the Market Street bridge will include LED lighting and will allow access to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater for events. The location will also host private community events, festivals, craft shows and makers’ markets.
“Before the park and amphitheater even broke ground, Huntington Bank expressed interest in not only supporting the project but contributing financially and developmentally into it,” said Eric Ryan, president of JAC management, in a statement.
JAC operates the amphitheater, as well as the adjacent Covelli Center.
Huntington Bank’s regional president for the Mahoning Valley and Canton regions, William C. Shivers, said the Community Alley is a perfect fit for the bank.
“The overall Riverfront Park project is very exciting for our community and serves as a visibly appealing gateway to the city of Youngstown,” he said. “The Huntington Bank Community Alley aligns perfectly with our mission to help make people’s lives better, help businesses thrive and strengthen the communities we serve.”
“Huntington continues to show what a community partner should look like in the city of Youngstown,” said Mayor Jamael Tito Brown about the impending completion of this project.
Opening day at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre is June 14 with the Home Savings Community Series’ First Look Friday, followed by the inaugural concert June 15.
The final construction phases of Huntington Bank Community Alley are slated for late summer.
