Inspiring Minds Receives $5,000 from Talmer Bank

WARREN, Ohio – Executives from Talmer Bank & Trust presented Inspiring Minds students and staff with a check for $5,000 Wednesday.

The donation will help fund Inspiring Minds’ enrichment program, which inspires under-served students to graduate from high school, pursue post-secondary education and become strong, successful members of the society, said Deryck Toles, Inspiring Minds founder and CEO.

“The funding will help us provide tutors and educational opportunities, as well as professional opportunities such as exposure trips to new cities, college visits, and company tours,” he added.

Inspiring Minds, founded in 2006, describes its mission as working “to engage, inspire and empower youth to reach their full potential through education and exposure to life-changing experiences.”

Programs include free after-school and summer enrichment programming to students in grades 3-12 that focus on five areas of impact: education, college and career readiness, new experiences, health and wellness and personal development.

Talmer Bank previously aided Inspiring Minds financially and through employee volunteerism, and plans to strengthen this partnership in the future, said Mark Wenick, Talmer’s executive managing director and region president.

“We, at Talmer Bank and Trust, understand that lives and communities are enriched when people work together to support one another, which is exactly why we are proud to support Inspiring Minds, their students and their success,” Wenick said.
