New Program will Help Businesses Get Government Contracts
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Scot Loveland of the YSU Procurement Technical Assistance Center discusses a new internship program that begins next year.
Seventeen students will be chosen to participate in the procurement internship program. After completing a three-hour spring course, they’ll go into a full-time summer internship with local businesses looking to engage the government marketplace.
“It’s going to cost a company overall $8,000 for the summer to get this intern, but the state of Ohio is going to foot $5,000 of that bill.” says Loveland.
