GIRARD, Ohio – For nearly four years, Jacob Davis has served in active duty with the U.S. Navy and is stationed at Norfolk, Va. He studied to be a naval meteorologist (Aerographer’s Mate) at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss.

“My family has deep roots in military service, especially the Navy,” says Emily Seidler, Davis’ sister and internet project manager at Patriot at Home. “My great-grandfathers served in the Army during World War II. My grandfather, Bill Davis, and his brother Joe both served in the Navy during Vietnam.

“My father, Sean Davis, served four years in the Navy, and his brother, Greg, was deployed on the USS Saratoga during the Persian Gulf War.”

Sean and Greg Davis, along with Craig Colton, are co-founders of Patriot at Home, a skilled-homecare company based in Girard. Having her brother put his life on hold to serve his country means a lot to Seidler, who nominated him for Salute Our Veterans, she says.

“Through them, our family has learned about strength and perseverance, as well as never leaving anyone behind,” Seidler says. “Patriot at Home was founded on these beliefs, and we carry them with us every day.”
