January Home Sales Down 5.5% in Region

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – House sales in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in January decreased 5.5%, according to the latest data from the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors and the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

Collectively, 327 houses were sold in the three counties last month, compared to 346 homes sold in January 2017 and 473 in December.

In Columbiana County, 45 houses were sold in January, down 22.4% from 58 sold one year ago. In Mahoning County, 164 were sold, down from 169 a year ago. And in Trumbull County 118 were sold, one less than last year.

In December, 82 were sold in Columbiana County, while 220 were sold in Mahoning County and 171 in Trumbull County

The median sale price in Columbiana Countywas $72,000, up from $90,013 in January 2017, but down from December’s $105,000.

Median sale prices during January in Mahoning County were $86,000 up from $72,000 a year ago and down slightly from December’s $87,200.

And in Trumbull County the average sale price was $88,100 in January, $68,000 in January 2017 and $78,100 in December.
