JCC Speaker Series Brings Veterans’ Stories to Seniors
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Area Jewish Federation’s new Nosh & Knowledge speaker series featured historian Todd DePastino, who speak at Heritage Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation on Tuesday.
DePastino is co-founder and director of the Veterans Breakfast Club, a nonprofit organization dedicated to gathering veterans of all eras and generations to share their stories of service.
“People get educated by hearing these stories,” DePastino says. “It’s a broadening experience to hear from people who have lived adventures, if you want to use that word, that are very different from your own life. I think we could learn from each other that way.”
