July VLT Play at Austintown Racino Up 3% from June

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Wagers on video lottery terminals at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in July were up 3% from the month before, the latest monthly report shows.

VLT play at the Austintown racino totaled $78.8 million last month, up from $76.5 million in June, according to the Ohio Lottery Commission. That compared to the $797.5 million in VLT wagers reported statewide in July, up from $735.9 million the month prior, for an increase of 8.4%.

Credits won at the Austintown racino last month totaled $70.1 million, up 2.4% from $68.4 million in June. Net win – credits played less credits won and promotional credits – was $8.3 million in July, an 8.5% increase from June’s $7.6 million.

The racino, which is owned by Penn National Gaming in Wyomissing, Pa., received $5.5 million from the VLT revenues for operating the facility, up from $5.1 million in June.

“July was another very solid month for Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course,” remarked Bob Tenenbaum, Penn National spokesman. “We continue to be very pleased with the reception we’re getting from the Mahoning Valley, and look forward to having our 75 additional VLTs operational by early September.

Since the Austintown racino’s opening in September 2014 through July, VLT wagers there have totaled $779.6 million, credits won $693.1 million, net win $81.9 million and racino commission $54.2 million.
