Keynote Hires Veteran Local TV Executive Fahnert

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Veteran television account executive John Fahnert has joined Keynote Media Group LLC as senior business development officer, the marketing firm announced.

Fahnert began his career in the television industry at WYTV Channel 33 as an account executive before moving in 1988 to a similar position at WKBN-TV, where he advanced to the position of senior account executive.

“I have known John for most of his career and always admired the fact that he went above and beyond for his clients,” remarked Richard Hahn, Keynote founder and CEO. “He brings a great deal of passion and expertise to our company.”

During his career, Fahnert has developed and implemented marketing campaigns for many of the region’s highest profile advertisers, including Charlie Staples BBQ, Diane Sauer Chevrolet, Quality Mattress Outlets, Donnell Ford and Rulli Bros. Markets.

He was the top local performer for LIN Digital Media, the digital advertising arm of Media General Corp, which owns WKBN, WYFX, and MyYTV and operates WYTV. He was recognized on numerous occasions for his sales accomplishments while at the station, including multiple President’s Club Awards for New Business Development.

After serving in the U.S. Army, the Sebring native graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in political science. He serves on the board of The Youngstown Rotary Club and is the Youngstown coordinator for All Aboard Ohio, an organization that promotes passenger rail and mass transit throughout the state.

He resides in Hermitage, Pa., with his wife, Beth Prizant.
