Klose, Eicher in Concert at Soap Gallery on Friday
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Singer-songwriter Jann Klose will return to Youngstown on Friday for a show at Soap Gallery with JD Eicher.
The show will mark the final event at Soap Gallery, 117 S. Champion St., downtown, which is closing after this weekend.
Doors will open at 7 p.m., with music at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance HERE:
Klose will celebrate the release of his seventh album, “Surrender,” at the show. “Surrender” was released in March. To hear the title track, click HERE:
Klose said the song isn’t meant in the traditional sense of the word. “It doesn’t refer to losing,” he explained in a press release. “It’s actually about winning, because there is enough strength inside to arrive at a point of true peace. A ‘letting go’ of baggage and a new, different approach to love, connection and self-awareness.”
Klose made the album during the pandemic when all music venues were shuttered. He got together twice a week with his friend and writing partner, Alex Forbes, to craft the songs in her Manhattan apartment.
Raised in Kenya, South Africa, Germany and Ohio, Klose has been regularly performing in Youngstown for years.
Friday’s show will also mark the first time that Canfield native Eicher will have his new vinyl release, “A Collection, Vol. 2,” available for purchase.
Eicher and his band have begun recording songs for their upcoming album and releasing videos. Check out the videos HERE.
Although Soap Gallery is closing, its next chapter is just beginning. Daniel Rauschenbach, who is a co-owner of the gallery, will open a new gallery in Struthers later this year. To learn more, click HERE.
