Kravec Discusses the Future of Public Health
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Dr. James Kravec, chief clinical officer at Mercy Health-Youngstown, talks about the future of public health and the importance of population health.
“Population health is the buzzword of 2015 on,” Kravec says. “And it’s going to be the reality that set in of how we’re handling patients moving forward.”
Essentially, population health refers to the health of the community, and how the health care industry addresses overall better care for chronic conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, as well as preventive care such as colonoscopies and mammograms, he said.
