Lafferty Has ‘Capacity for Action’ at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Helen K. Lafferty will take office as interim president of Youngstown State University following President Jim Tressel’s departure on Feb. 1.
Lafferty, long-time professor and administrator at Villanova University in Pennsylvania said during an online press conference that she has a capacity for action and that action will be determined by the conversations she has with the YSU community.
“I’m not here just to keep the lights on,” Lafferty said. “I’m here to do whatever is in my capacity to do to advance Youngstown State University and all of her people. So that will really be my force of action.”
