Lamb of God Coming to Youngstown Amphitheater
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Heavy metal band Lamb of God will return to Youngstown on Sept. 13 to headline a concert at Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre that will also include Killswitch Engage, with special guests Baroness and Suicide Silence.
Tickets are $79.50, $69.50 and $49.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, at the Covelli Centre box office and at ticketmaster.com (fees apply). An online-only presale will take place Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; use the password “REDNECK.”
Lamb Of God’s status in the world of American metal is approaching a level occupied Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth. Guitar World magazine summarized the band’s place in the genre: “For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world.”
The band last played Youngstown in 2019, as part of Slayer’s farewell tour.
Some of Lamb of God’s songs, including “Laid to Rest,” “Redneck,” “Walk with Me in Hell” and “Now You’ve Got Something to Die For” have become anthems in the heavy metal songbook.
The Grammy-nominated band’s most recent release is 2020’s self-titled album.
It will release its next album, “Omens,” on Oct. 7. The first single from the collection, “Nevermore,” will be released Friday, June 10.
Even as band members D. Randall Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (lead guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John
Campbell (bass), and Art Cruz (drums) enjoy one another’s company like never before, “Omens” is possibly the angriest Lamb Of God album yet, according to a press release from the band.
