Landers-Lewis Marks 5 Years with 10% Growth
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Landers-Lewis Insurance Agency & Consulting Services, based in Boardman, celebrated five years in 2018 as it achieved 10.1% growth, reports Steven R. Lewis, principal.
Patty Smearman joined the team as manager of personal lines. Dan Landers, a principal with the firm, added the designation of commercial lines coverage specialist to his title. And Lewis was appointed as fund adviser to the Ross Griffin Memorial Foundation.
“As we look ahead to 2019 and beyond, our goals, objectives, and commitments will not waiver,” Lewis says.
The agency’s sister company, Midwest Ventures & Consulting, formed an investor group that last January paid $500,000 to acquire the Huntington Building on Courthouse Square in downtown Warren.
“This strategic acquisition helped to further diversify our real estate investor portfolio and bring some balance between commercial and residential investments,” Lewis says. “The trend in downtown Warren is undeniably positive and we wish to be a notable component of that changing culture.”
Lewis says the office building “is arguably the most attractive space in the downtown with amazing views of the river, the square and Perkins Park, and possesses its own parking, which is unique in this day and age. Current tenants often refer to this tower as the ‘Warren Trade Center,’ which is a marvelous compliment.”
Also last year, MVC sold the Turnberry Apartments in Youngstown for $2.1 million after turning the property around both financially and from a community perspective.
“Our goal for 2019 will be to heighten our focus on downtown Warren, whether it be via direct investment or partnering opportunities,” Lewis says.
