YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Lariccia Family Endowed Professorship has been bestowed upon Patrick J. Bateman, distinguished professor of management and director of the MBA program at Youngstown State University.
The bestowal ceremony was Nov. 2. Endowed professorships in the Williamson College of Business Administration are awarded in recognition of a faculty member’s past contributions and future potential to make significant contributions to the department/school, college and university.
“The Lariccia Family Endowed Professorship is an important investment in recognizing our exceptional faculty,” said Betty Jo Licata, interim dean of the WCBA.
“Dr. Bateman’s achievements in teaching and research and his impactful role at the WCBA exemplify the caliber of talent we are committed to supporting,” she said. “This professorship will enhance his ongoing contributions to the college’s strategic priorities. We are deeply grateful to the Lariccia family for their unwavering support of our faculty and students.”

“On behalf of our family, we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Dr. Bateman,” Natalie and Dana Lariccia said in a statement. “We look forward to him extending his time and talent and are excited for him to share his knowledge with the impressive students at YSU’s Williamson College of Business.”
YSU President Bill Johnson said he’s honored to be part of the recognition of Bateman.
“His contributions within his field and WCBA underscore his dedication and merit of this recognition,” Johnson said.
Bateman has been a professor at the WCBA since 2008 and specializes in management, leadership, information systems, social media and e-commerce.
“I am deeply honored and appreciative of the generous gift from the Lariccia family that supports this position and for being selected as the Lariccia Family Endowed Professor. The Lariccia family has been a longtime supporter of the college, committed to its growth and development,” he said. “In this spirit, I will continue to focus on initiatives that expand the college’s reach and amplify the impact of the great work happening here.”
