Lawrence Chamber Promotes Orrico, Updates Dues Model

NEW CASTLE, Pa. – The Lawrence County Regional Chamber of Commerce has promoted Erin Orrico to investor relations specialist and updated the way it collects dues from members.

Orrico started working seven years ago for the Lawrence County Economic Development Corp. as an administrative assistant. LCEDC combined with the chamber in 2017.

“Erin has been one of our stars, working hard to make the merger a success,” said Alex McCoy, CEO of the chamber and LCEDC.  “After the two separate offices moved into the same location, Erin was promoted to office manager, and has now been promoted again.”

Orrico’s promotion comes as the chamber and LCEDC roll out a new membership structure.

“It didn’t make sense to have two separate memberships, derived by two completely different models,” said McCoy.  “Consumers today want more choices, and we believe our members are no different.”

The chamber’s old model followed the “fair-share” principle of bigger businesses paying more for essentially the exact same service. The LCEDC was on a tiered model that provided the same benefits to everyone. The new model is a tiered model with different benefits tailored to different kinds of members.

The chamber will be holding classes for members to learn more about how they can benefit from their membership.

“We know we are rolling out a lot of change now in a very short amount of time,” Orrico said. “That’s the key reason we are planning to host several ‘Membership 101’ sessions over the next several months. Members can take advantage of several new tools to promote themselves to encourage more people to shop local.”

The next ‘Membership 101’ is March 20 at 7:30 a.m. To register, go to LawrenceCounty.com, email [email protected] or call 724 658 1488.
